Numbness and Pain

Tingling in the hands and feet is sometimes benign and temporary, and it could be a result from pressure on nerves, giving a pins-and-needles effect which is usually painless. In many cases it can also be severe, episodic, or chronic. It can also be accompanied by pain, itching, numbness, and muscle wasting. The tingling could be a sign of nerve damage, from causes such as a traumatic injury, toxic exposures, and systemic diseases such as diabetes. Nerve tingling can also be a sign of diabetes. Causes of tingling include Nerve entrapment syndrome, systemic diseases, vitamin deficiencies, alcoholism, toxins, infections, Autoimmune disease, inherited disorders, or injury.
